Veteran actor Paul Essiembre has worked in Canadian theater (he performed in the company of the Stratford Shakespeare Festival in Stratford, Ontario, for four years) and in Canadian and U.S. television and film since 1996, when he debuted in a supporting role in Renny Harlin’s The Long Kiss Goodnight, with Geena Davis, Samuel L. Jackson, and Brian Cox, followed by another supporting role in Gus Van Sant’s Oscar-winning Good Will Hunting (1997), with Robin Williams, Matt Damon, and Ben Affleck. Essiembre returned to features after several years in television with director Daniel Duran’s Bravetown (2015), with Josh Duhamel, Maria Bello, and Laura Dern.
Paul Essiembre won a Best Canadian Actor award for his performance in director Robert Adetuyi’s Canadian period film, Stand! (2019), with Gregg Henry, Laura Wiggins, Hayley Sales, and Marshall Williams. Essiembre joined the cast of the Bob Odenkirk drama-comedy, Nobody (2021), with Connie Nielsen, Christopher Lloyd, and RZA, followed by the Netflix thriller written and directed by Jonathan Hensleigh, The Ice Road (2021), with Liam Neeson, Laurence Fishburne, and Marcus Thomas. In 2022, Paul Essiembre appeared in Lori Evans Taylor’s domestic horror thriller, Bed Rest, with Melissa Barrera, Guy Burnet, and Kristen Harris.
Paul Essiembre was born and raised in the New Brunswick, Canada village of Grande-Digue. His family moved to the Montreal area. Essiembre studied drama at Montreal-based Dawson College. Essiembre and his family live in Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada. His height is 5’ 9”.
