Kyle Marvin is a writer/producer/director/writer/actor who established his name as co-creator (with partner Michael Covino) of The Climb (2019), which Marvin co-wrote with Covino, produced, and starred in, expanding from a short film in 2017, which Marvin co-wrote and produced. The short premiered at the 2017 Sundance Film Festival, while the feature premiered in the Cannes Film Festival’s Un Certain Regard section.
Before this, Marvin worked as a producer on a handful of indie features (as well as three shorts), including writer-director Morgan Krantz’s Babysitter (2015); writer-director Sam Kretchmar’s Keep in Touch (2015); writer-director Josh Locy’s Hunter-Gatherer (2016), premiering at the South by Southwest film festival); and writer-director Justin Tipping’s Kicks (2016), premiering at the Tribeca film festival).
Following The Climb, Marvin produced writer-director Ryan Maxey’s documentary, One Road to Quartzite (2022), and writer-director Daniel Antebi’s God’s Time (2023), as well as co-starring in the Apple TV series, WeCrashed (2022), with Jared Leto and Anne Hathaway. Kyle Marvin was the director-producer of the NFL-set comedy 80 for Brady (2023), starring Lily Tomlin, Jane Fonda, Rita Moreno, Sally Field, and Tom Brady, which opened in early February 2023 and was projected to gross over $30 million globally.
Marvin was co-writer (with Michael Angelo Covino) and co-star of the comedy, Splitsville (2025), starring Dakota Johnson, Adria Arjona, Marvin, Nicholas Braun, and O-T Fagbenle, premiering at the Cannes Film Festival and released wide by Neon. Marvin was an executive producer (with Covino) on director/writer/producer Simon Hacker’s comedy-drama, Notice to Quit (2024), and the documentary, Ferrari: Fury & the Monster (2024).
Kyle Marvin was director/producer of the Yosemite-set true-story drama about El Capitan climbers, Batso (date to be announced), co-starring Lewis Pullman, Walton Goggins, and Jessica Biel, written by Eamon O’Sullivan, and produced by Watch This Ready/3311 Productions/CAA Media Finance.
Kyle Marvin was born and raised by his parents in Portland, Oregon. Marvin attended and graduated from the Delphian School in 2004, but decided not to attend college.
