Jeremy Pope is an acclaimed stage and film actor and singer, a veteran of Broadway, Off-Broadway, and regional theater, and gaining praise and award nominations for his film work. Bursting onto the theater scene in Off-Broadway and regional theater with his starring role in Tarell Alvin McCraney’s Choir Boy in 2013-2014, Pope became a busy stage actor in both dramas and musicals, as in his portrayal of singer Eddie Kendricks in Ain’t Too Proud…The Life and Times of the Temptations in 2017 through 2019.
Pope’s screen debut was in a supporting role in the slasher movie, The Ranger (2018). Pope’s first significant supporting film role was as R&B singer Jackie Wilson in the Regina King-directed One Night in Miami… (2020), released by Amazon Studios and with Kingsley Ben-Adir, Eli Goree, Aldis Hodge, and Leslie Odom Jr., who was Oscar-nominated for Best Supporting Actor. Jeremy Pope’s first starring film role was in writer-director Elegance Bratton’s Marine boot camp drama, The Inspection (2022), with Bokeem Woodbine and Gabrielle Union, and premiering at the Toronto Film Festival.

Following this, another notable cultural figure whom Pope re-enacted was Sammy Davis Jr., his role in the Janet Mock-directed showbiz romance, Scandalous! (date to be announced).
Alongside his acting career, Jeremy Pope is a recording artist, having independently released four singles, including originals and covers (2015-2020). He has also performed as a soloist on Broadway cast recordings for shows in which he’s performed, including The View UpStairs (2017), about the 1973 arson attack on a New Orleans gay bar.
Jeremy Pope was born and raised in Orlando, Florida. Pope graduated from Timber Creek High School in Orlando and studied acting at the American Musical and Dramatic Academy.
