Actor Iyana Halley broke into movies after X years of credits in television with writer-director Adisa’s human trafficking drama, Skin in the Game (2019), with Samantha Hanratty, Gail Bean, and Gideon Adlon. Halley was part of the supporting cast of writer-director Rod S. Scott’s Los Angeles drama, Nineteen Summers (2019), with Elise Neal, Emonjay Brown, and Norman Johnson Jr. Halley appeared in the ensemble of the female friendship drama, If Not Now, When? (2019), with Meagan Holder, Mekia Cox, Tamara Bass, and Meagan Good.
Halley joined the cast and earned above-the-title billing for the New York-set sequel, True to the Game 2 (2020), with Erica Peeples, Andra Fuller, and Vivica A. Fox, followed by True to the Game 3 (2021), with Columbus Short and Kris Lofton. Halley played support in two consecutive features by writer-director Preston A. Whitmore II—the crime drama, Dutch (2021), and the talk radio-based drama, Real Talk (2021). By far the most prominent feature in which Halley has appeared to date is her supporting role in Paul Thomas Anderson’s comedy-drama, Licorice Pizza (2021), with Alana Haim, Cooper Hoffman, Sean Penn, Bradley Cooper, and Benny Safdie.
Halley gained her first starring role in director-co-writer Kurt Yochum’s thriller, Wayward (2022), with Barton Fitzpatrick and Darius McCrary. Halley followed with a co-starring role in her first studio film, Universal Pictures’ production of Baltasar Kormákur’s African thriller, Beast (2022), with Idris Elba, Leah Jeffries, and Sharlto Copley.
Iyana Halley was born and raised in Brooklyn, New York. Her father is a film producer and talent manager Manny Halley.
