Raised in Brooklyn’s Bushwick section, Anthony Ramos is Puerto Rican-American. He has a mother, a younger sister, and an older brother. A New Utrecht High School graduate, Ramos shifted his dreams of a baseball career to the musical theater.
He earned a complete American Musical and Dramatic Academy scholarship and graduated in 2011. Anthony Ramos had already done national tours within three years, a brief stint at Radio City Music Hall with The Rockettes. He was cast in the Public Theatre’s off-Broadway production of Hamilton.
