Abby Trott (birthname: Abby Lee Trott) is a much-in-demand voice actor, especially for anime movies, TV, and video games. Trott’s feature film debut as an English-dubbing voice actor was on Yuzo Sato’s Hunter X Hunter: Phantom Rouge (2013), grossing $12.7 million worldwide. Trott’s next feature voice work was in the sequel, Kuroko’s Basketball: Last Game (2017), directed by Shunsuke Tada and produced by Bandai Visual, and taking in a global gross of $8.3 million.
Trott’s first non-Japanese anime feature production as a voice actor was in the Illumination Entertainment/Moose Toys kids-oriented fantasy-comedy, Shopkins Wild (2018), co-directed by Richard Bailey and Adele K. Thomas. Abby Trott then took on one of her most widely-seen/heard English-dubbed vocal roles as Nezuko Kamado in the Demon Slayer movie franchise, starting with Demon Slayer: Sibling’s Bond (2019), and continuing with Demon Slayer: Mugen Train (2021), Demon Slayer: To the Swordsmith Village (2023), and Demon Slayer: To the Hashira Training (2024), all directed by Haruo Sotozaki, produced by Ufotable and released by Toho and Aniplex.
Trott voiced a supporting role in Wit Studio’s Japanese anime feature sequel, Kabaneri of the Iron Fortress: The Battle of Unato (2019), written and directed by Tetsuro Araki. Trott delivered her first English-language voice performance for a Hong Kong animation movie with the Golden Scene and Simage Animation and Media co-production, Sherlock Holmes and the Great Escape (2019), co-directed by Matthew Chow and Toe Yuen, who was also a writer. Trott returned to Japanese animation work in the American dub of co-writer/director Satoshi Kon’s acclaimed drama, Millennium Actress (2019), which premiered at the Fantasia Film Festival, earning several festival awards and four Annie Award nominations.
Abby Trott returned to the Japanese anime mainstream in the English dub version of director Takayuki Humana's action-fantasy sequel, The Seven Deadly Sins: Cursed by Light (2021),The Witcher: Nightmare of the Wolf (2021), produced by Studio DEEN. Trott voiced a supporting role in the Production I.G./Sola Digital Arts/Bang Zoom! Studios' futurist sci-fi sequel, Ghost in the Shell: SAC_2045—Sustainable War (2021), directed by Shinji Aramaki, Michihito Fujii, and Kenji Kamiyama. Trott landed a role in director-writer Makoto Shinkai’s superb fantasy drama, Suzume (2023), produced by CoMix Wave Films and released by Crunchyroll (in the U.S.) to rave reviews and earning a $323 million global gross after premiering in competition at the Berlin film festival.
Abby Trott was born and raised in Attleboro, Massachusetts by her parents. Trott won an online contest for voice acting conducted by Bang Zoom! Entertainment prompted her to move from New York to Los Angeles to pursue a career as a voice actor. Trott’s height is 5’ 3”.
