Since opening the first location in 1998, Galaxy Theatres has been one of the fastest-growing theatrical exhibitors in the country. Galaxy has expanded across the West Coast to now manage 15 locations in Arizona, California, Nevada, Texas, and Washington through an approach of offering a “state-of-the-art” theatrical experience.
That approach has led Galaxy to recently trial Frazil’s cutting-edge frozen drink products at three select locations. According to Mo Healy, Galaxy Theatres Director of Food and Beverage Sales, the trial of both Frazil and Café Tango has been a big success both financially and operationally.
Galaxy Theatres has separated itself from other exhibitors through offering a “high impact, state of the art experience.” Each location features immersive Sony Digital Cinema™ auditoriums, boasting over 250 full power reclining, stadium-style seats and showcases Sony’s dual-laser projection systems. Coupled with dynamic Dolby Atmos® sound, the exceptional theatrical experience has translated to a loyal audience following that has allowed Galaxy Theatres to grow amid a challenging period for theatrical exhibition at large.
In addition to the in-theatre experience, Galaxy has taken a similar forward-thinking approach when it comes to its food and beverage sales. With concession accounting for a larger percentage of exhibition’s annual revenue in the post-pandemic era, it’s more important than ever for exhibitors to maximize revenue potential from concessions. Since stepping into the role as Director of Food and Beverage Sales in 2023, Healy has taken a forward-thinking approach, informed by metrics and consumer feedback.
Healy’s willingness to embrace new trends made him open to Frazil’s products when he was first approached by them. The hot climate of the West made their moviegoers an ideal audience for Frazil’s brightly colored, delicious slushies and frozen beverages.
