Luci Christian (birthname: Louisa Michelle Christian) is a veteran voice actor and ADR script writer who has specialized in Japanese anime movies, video games, and TV series since 1998. She has voiced the major character of Nami in the English-language versions of the One Piece series since 2008, including One Piece Film: Red (2022), directed by Gorō Taniguchi, and featuring the voices of AmaLee and Daniel Baugh, which ranks as the highest-grossing Japanese feature released in 2022.
Luci Christian’s feature film voice debut was Fullmetal Alchemist the Movie: Conqueror of Shamballa (2006), followed by her first One Piece movie, One Piece Movie: The Desert Princess and the Pirates—Adventures in Alabasta (2008). Christian’s subsequent One Piece assignments include One Piece Film: Strong World (2013), One Piece Film: Z (2014), One Piece Film: Gold (2017), and One Piece Film: Stampede (2019).
Christian has voiced the character of Deunan Knute in Appleseed Ex Machina (2008) and Appleseed Alpha (2014), both directed by Shinji Aramaki. Christian voiced the recurring character of Ochaco Uraraka in My Hero Academia: Two Heroes (2018), My Hero Academia: Heroes Rising (2020), and My Hero Academia: World Heroes’ Mission (2021), all directed by Kenji Nagasaki. Christian also voiced a Chinese-produced animated fantasy adventure, Legend of Deification/Jiang Ziya (2020), co-directed by Cheng Teng and Li Wei.
Born and raised in Texas by parents Mike and Barbara Christian (teachers), Luci Christian participated in child beauty pageants from age 3 to 9, and later performed in school theater productions. Her initial professional goal was journalism, but when she received a scholarship in theater at Angelo State University, in San Angelo, Texas, Christian changed her major to theater.
After graduating, Christian earned a Master of Fine Arts degree in theater at Louisiana State University. Christian was previously married to actor Christopher Berry. She has been married to Michael Bell since 2008; the couple has two children. Her height is 5’ 1½”.
