The Catlow Theatre, located in downtown Barrington, Illinois, is a historic landmark listed on the National Register of Historic Places. Originally opened in 1927 with interior designs by Prairie School sculptor Alfonso Iannelli, the theater has long been a cultural gem in the Northwest suburbs. Now undergoing a revitalization led by the Catlow 1927 Foundation, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit, the venue is being restored to its former glory while transforming into a multi-purpose space for movies, live performances, weddings, community events, and more. Restoration efforts include preserving its iconic marquee, intricate architectural details, and upgrading with modern technologies. Plans also feature a new lounge, bar, and catering kitchen to enhance its vibrant atmosphere. This one-time capital campaign relies on community support to prepare the Catlow for its next hundred years, ensuring it remains a cherished hub for arts and entertainment in Barrington.
