The Cavern Theatre in Carlsbad, New Mexico is a newly reopened, historic single-screen theatre operating under Carlsbad MainStreet and the Pearl of the Pecos Arts & Cultural District. It is a community-oriented venue with state-of-the-art sound and technical capabilities, enhancing the quality of life for local residents and revitalizing the downtown area. The theatre was shuttered in the 1980s and reopened in 2025 following a nine-year, $8.4 million renovation project led by the city of Carlsbad with support from the state of New Mexico, a group of local non-profit organizations and individual contributors. The theatre hosts movie screenings and live performances in a gloriously-renovated, classic entertainment setting.
