A veteran Broadway and regional theater director and TV helmer, Jason Moore has been directing features in the past decade, starting with the sleeper hit musical, Pitch Perfect (2012), with Anna Kendrick, Rebel Wilson, and Elizabeth Banks. Though made for $17 million, the movie’s global gross was over $115 million.
Jason Moore executive produced the phenomenally successful sequel, Pitch Perfect 2 (2015), which more than doubled the original’s gross, with a $287 million return, making it the top-grossing musical comedy in film history. He served the same duties on Pitch Perfect 3 (2017), grossing $185 million worldwide, ranking it second all-time among musical comedies. Moore shifted to comedy (without music) for Sisters (2015), with Tina Fey and Amy Poehler, their second feature collaboration after Baby Mama (2008).
It was Moore’s third box office hit in a row, with Sisters tripling its costs with a box-office return of $105 million. For Amazon Studios, Moore directed Jennifer Lopez, John Duhamel, Jennifer Coolidge, and Lenny Kravitz in the action comedy Shotgun Wedding (2022).
Born and raised in Fayetteville, Arkansas, by his father Rudy Moore, who is a Fayetteville District Judge, Jason Moore attended and graduated from Northwestern University.
