Last week, the National Research Group (NRG) published the results of a poll it conducted during the week of February 8th that measured the comfort level of consumers is returning to movie theatres. The results were encouraging, with 82% of responders saying that they expect to be “very or somewhat comfortable” once the vaccine is broadly available. Between 40% and 60% of all demographic groups reported that they were already comfortable returning to theatres, led by teens (60%) and under 25-year-old males (62%). 60% of those polled said they expect to next see a movie in theaters within the next three months. Perhaps the anticipation is beginning to build as publicity rolls out for mainstream Hollywood releases leading up to the summer.
