Summaries

Plot Summary

As Alex wakes up to alarms for air-raids on Midsummer Day (after Midsummer Eve), he recollects his childhood, and his fathers aggression and distance. Then motorists crash into each other as they have symptoms of severe dementia, the news says it is IS that attacks Sweden. But later they understand that it must be someone else, a picture of Putin more then suggests that it is Russia.The attackers now arrive in helicopters and move down people that are not affected by the dementia syndrome with machine guns and bombs. The lone survivor of the cabinet arrives in a secure location, and is told that people are affected by a nerve agent, but you can only be affected if it rains, cause the agent need the rain to get people smitten.The military now use protection masks, and the unknown enemy are aware that the military and government minister hides in a bunker, At the same time Alex father, who is an electrics engineer won'r let his transformation station get disconnected , as the enemy have done with all others, as well as telephone, mobile and internet connections. The enemy strikes the station, but he strikes back, and succeeds to kill them all.People gather in the station, which is inside a mountain. They are found out and the enemy sends more helicopters, so they escape by an emergency exit to a church.There is more fightning again, and Alex father runs his private small plane into a helicopter, and crashes the heli, but also crashes himself, but he survives and his some sees him get swallowed by the flames.Afterward the attack on Aweden is over, and only 8% of the populace died.

Storyline

It's midsummer and Sweden wakes up to a state of emergency. TV, internet, and telephone networks are down, and before anyone realizes what's behind the collapse, a series of unexplained attacks take place around the country. Alex, a successful pianist whose controlled existence is upturned when his mother dies in a suspected terror attack, returns to his childhood village to arrange the funeral. There, he must reconcile with both his father and his old flame, Anna, who he has desperately been trying to forget. As old feelings come back to the surface, more mysterious attacks plunge Sweden into chaos and confusion.
