The President of Marcus Theatres, one of the largest exhibitors in the country, is retiring. Marcus published a press release on Friday morning announcing that Mark Gramz would be stepping down from his role as President as of March 31, 2026, after which he will serve as an advisor to the company. A search for Gramz’s replacement is actively underway, with both internal and external candidates being considered.
Gramz leaves behind a 55-year legacy with the company, having started in 1970 as a ticket taker and worked his way up the ladder to become its President in 2022. At that time, Gramz took over from his renowned predecessor in the role of Rolando Rodriguez.
Gramz has navigated many challenges during his tenure, including the impact of the writers’ and actors‘ strikes in 2023. He championed further investments to install Marcus’ “Ultrascreen” and “Superscreen” Premium Large Format technology and upgrades to luxury seating and dine-in experiences. He will leave his successor with a company in a strong fiscal position and an opportunity to build on his vision.
