Shunsuke Ishikawa has been a Japanese anime industry veteran since 2003, largely working on Japanese television anime series as a director and storyboard artist. Ishikawa’s major work was as a storyboard artist on The Seven Deadly Sins (2018) and as a director in episodic TV on such popular shows as Sword Art Online (2018-2019).
Ishikawa’s feature directorial debut finally arrived with the football-themed Blue Lock: Episode Nagi (2024), Crunchyroll’s movie version (released wide theatrically) of the popular anime originally written by Muneyuki Kaneshiro, and building on the TV series launched in 2022 and produced by Eight Bit.
Shunsuke Ishikawa was born and raised in Japan.
