Bert Kreischer (birthname: Albert Kreischer Jr.) is a popular stand-up comic, podcaster, and TV performer who has broken out into feature films as the star of The Machine (2023). After gaining a notorious reputation as “the top partier” while a student at Florida State University (often dubbed the top “party school” in America), Kreischer developed his comedy persona as “The Machine,” gaining a cult following on the stand-up circuit and parlaying this into a string of TV shows, as actor/host, writer, and/or executive producer, including as host of Travel Channel’s Bert the Conqueror (2010-2016) and Trip Flip (2012-2015).
As the creator of the comedy cooking show, Something’s Burning (2018); as well as a series of stand-up and comedy TV specials, including Bert Kreischer: Comfortably Dumb (2009), Bert Kreischer: The Machine (2016), and Bert Kreischer: Razzle Dazzle, and the Netflix series, The Cabin with Bert Kreischer (2020).
Kreischer’s feature film debut was as a co-star in writer-director Bryan Sipe’s comedy, Alpha Mail (2007), with Ken Garito and Bruce Kirby. Although he was not credited as a screenwriter, Bert Kreischer effectively created the central title character (a fictionalized version of himself, also named “Bert”) and concept behind the feature film, The Machine, in which he starred and executive produced, with Peter Alencio directing a cast including Jimmy Tatro and Mark Hamill, and released by Screen Gems.
